“Keelin is a Human MRI. I have been a patient on several occasions. As a medical practitioner for nearly 40 years, involved in the training of hundreds of medical students, interns, and residents, I can honestly state that Keelin’s physical diagnostic skills are truly remarkable. This unique ability only enhances the success of her therapeutic plan.” ~ William McLaughlin, MD

What is Neural Manipulation?

“Neural” refers to the nervous system of the body, which includes the central nervous system; brain and spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system; which includes the cranial and peripheral nerves. This delicate system acts as a massive communication highway throughout the body. When it becomes dysfunctional, pain and loss of function, body motion, and organ dysfunction can result. Neural Manipulation identifies local nerve restrictions and fixations as it interacts with the rest of the body and tissues. This manual technique re-establishes communication in the body, improves blood and neural circulation to restore optimal health.

Dr Keelin Regan-Reed is able to “listen” to the cranial rhythm in the brain and body by following the cerebral spinal fluid flow as it works around the brain and spinal cord to the peripheral nerves throughout the body. Just like a clinician can “feel” for the pulse in your wrist to listen to your blood flow and heart beat, the fluid of the brain and nerves has a similar “feel” of pressure changes. This spinal fluid moves much slower than an artery pulse and takes years of practice to identify the pressure changes and flow. Our bodies hug around lesions and restrictions thus changing the rhythm of the fluid. Keelin can detect this change and follow where the lesion is and make the necessary corrections and or releases so the body can then heal on its own.

What Does It Feel Like?

Neural Manipulation is a soft hands on manual technique. Nerves are very delicate soft tissue structures that protect themselves deep in our fascia, tissue, organs, and muscles. However, as they move throughout the body to innervate our organ and muscle structures there are times where they expose themselves more superficially to the skin. For example, at the elbow we sometimes can bump our “funny bone” and feel the sensation that is very different from bumping other parts of our body. This is where the ulnar nerve at the elbow exposes itself as it feeds down to the hand. Keelin will follow these areas of exposure of the superficial nerve and be able to manually stretch and mobilize. The technique can often cause symptoms of tingles, or muscle twitches in the body. Sometimes patients can feel sensations in other areas of the body, or a warm feeling due to increased circulation down an extremity.

In the body, a nerve functions correctly only when it can be able to move freely within its surrounding tissues. Nerves can become “fixed” or dysfunctional due to many reasons: physical trauma, surgeries, sedentary lifestyle, infections, pollution, bad diet, chronic inflammation, poor posture, and pregnancy/delivery.

Testimonials

“Keelin is the best PT I have worked with, and I have seen quite a few! I am a runner, cyclist, hiker, just get me outside to play kinda gal. An injury kept me from doing any activity for a year due to pain. I saw a variety of practitioners during that time (PT, chiropractor, massage therapist, orthopedic doc) with no results. Thankfully I got referred to Keelin. Within three treatments I was walking without pain for the first time in a year and within a few more I was on my bike again. Yay! She saw the root cause of why I could not heal that everyone else missed and was able to unwind the years of soft tissue damage. As an acupuncturist I have referred quite a few patients to Keelin and they all say exactly what I did — I just wish I had found her sooner. She works magic and is absolutely delightful as well. Book your appointment now, she’s the one you have been looking for.”
